In the autumn, Oskar Hoff broke Lars Frölander's 20-year-old Swedish record in the 50 meter butterfly when he swam 22.95.

On Saturday, 23-year-old Hoff made his World Cup debut in the record branch, but did not make it to the semifinals.

On Thursday it was time for the double distance and at the beginning the Swede was well in the race.

But towards the last 15 meters, Hoff lost and put his hand in the tile as fourth in the heat, in the time 53.58 - which was far from a semifinal place.

- I had expected more, it has felt very good the last few days.

I'm surprised at the time, I thought it would go faster.

I was expecting under 53 today, says Hoff, who has a personal best of 53.41 in the 100 meter butterfly.

- I'm here to perform, it's sad not to be able to do that, Hoff continues.

The fastest in the trials was the home swimmer Kristof Malik in the time of 50.68.

The semifinals will be swum tonight, the final on Friday night.

Eliasson knocked out in the 50 meter freestyle

In the 50 meter freestyle Isak Eliasson got off to a good start, but after 25-30 meters it was heavier.

The 26-year-old was second in the heat, but the time of 22.47 was not enough for the semifinals.
