Erik Persson finished second in his semifinal in the 200 meter breaststroke in Budapest.

The 28-year-old put his hands in the tile in the time 2.08.84.

- It was nice to be able to trim down the time a bit compared to the experiments, even though I was a bit slow home.

Now it's just a matter of resting and taking care of the body until tomorrow, says Erik Persson to SVT Sport.

Persson's time was fourth best in the two semifinals.

In addition to the Australian Zac Stubblety-Cook, who swam an impressive 2.06.72, it was very even around the medal times.

"Maybe silver"

- The feeling right now is that if Erik can get down to his personal best (2.07.66) then it might be enough for a medal, says SVT Sports expert Lars Frölander.

- Maybe silver, filler commentator Niklas Nord fills in.

- Yes maybe.

In the 200 meter breaststroke, Erik Persson has taken a European Championship bronze in the long distance and a European Championship silver in the short distance.
