The Senate is continuing its hearings as part of the investigation into the incidents at the Stade de France on May 28 during the Champions League final, won by Real Madrid at the expense of Liverpool.
This Tuesday morning, the Senators interviewed Martin Kallen, managing director of UEFA Events, a UEFA subsidiary responsible for commercial event operations, for more than an hour.
He announced that the independent investigation commissioned by the authority should deliver its conclusions in September.
In addition to confirming that the body would compensate supporters deprived of access to the stadium despite a real ticket, he also talked about figures.
“There were just under 75,000 people in the stadium, we can say that we had 26,000 more people around the stadium.
It was local people and different spectators, a large part of which were Liverpool supporters,” he said.
“Around 2,600 counterfeit tickets were brought to the turnstiles.
On this, we have already done a survey with addresses that were on the QR codes, ”he assured.
“We can say that there must have been more than 2,600 tickets that were fake.
How much, we don't know, we couldn't really verify.
(But) we do not believe the figures mentioned on the first day in France, which were more or less 30 to 40,000.
