The Emirates team dominates in the Slovenia Tour... and Bogachar wins the Tsileh race

UAE Team Emirates rider Tadi Pogačar was able to savor the taste of victory again thanks to his strong performance in the third stage of the Tour of Slovenia, as the Slovenian won first place in the race, which was held over a 144.6 km track from Galic to Celle.

The Tour de France champion had launched in a strong attacking performance alongside his Polish colleague Rafal Maika 23 km from the finish line, as the duo crossed a climbing distance of the second classification in the Svitina region (5.2 km, with an average slope of 7.7%), which enabled them to advance over the group Main.

After overcoming the climb, Nikola Koncci (Albicin-Phoenix) joined forces with Pugachar and Mica before reaching the final hill just before the finish line in Celle, to set off the Slovenian’s top speed past Conci to claim a deserved first-place win by 11 seconds over teammate Maika. He finished second, 14 seconds behind Nicolas Conchi, in third place.

This is the eighth victory this season for Bogachar, and the seventeenth for the Emirates team.

Thanks to his victory, Tade managed to take the general classification for the Tour of Slovenia, 7 seconds ahead of his colleague Mika, who finished second in the general classification, as well as winning first place in the climbing classifications and points classification.

Commenting on his victory, Tade Bogachar said: “The team worked perfectly to dominate this race, especially at the climbing distance where my colleague Rafal Maika and I both sprinted to make headway on the main set. The slope was very slippery because of the rain, and I knew that the climb was going It's going to be tough, especially with the Konchi rivals ahead, so we had a smart strategy on the last hill and everything went as we planned and we were able to win first and second places, so I'm very happy with this result."

Tomorrow, the fourth stage of the Tour of Slovenia will take place on a 152.4 km track from Lasko to Velika Planina, ending with a climb of 7.7 km and a gradient of 7.9%.
