France star Clien Mbappe and French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet cleared the air over the issue of image rights that could have affected the preparations of the French national football team.

And the French website RMC quoted Le Graet as saying that he had several meetings with Mbappe before and during the last gathering of the French national team, and he also met with his teammates.

He indicated that Mbappe had agreed to accept the current agreement governing the image rights of players in the French national team, provided that no change to the agreement occurred until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

And Le Graet considered that "there is no big problem to deal with," referring to the controversy that Mbappe has raised since the national team's rally last March, when the striker gave up attending a marketing event in a protest against the image rights agreement linking the team's players to the French Federation.

The player's representatives said at the time that the Paris Saint-Germain star was not seeking by his behavior to lead a "rebellion" within the national team, but he hoped to move things that have been frozen for years.

And they stated in a statement that any player who joins the national team signs an agreement that includes clauses on waiving his image rights for the benefit of sponsors and partners of the Football Association.

Each player receives 25,000 euros for each match he plays for the national team.

The statement indicated that Mbappe signed the agreement in 2017, but "this agreement has not been renegotiated since then and is valid for every player until the end of his career in the national team."

The player's representatives stated that they had contacted the federation "several times, for more than 3 years" in order to amend the terms of the agreement in a way that ensures respect for the value of each player.

The statement confirmed that Mbappe's decision does not affect his commitment to the "roosters" and his attachment to the World Cup title holder, and indicated that the Saint-Germain player was keen, since his first participation, to donate the money he receives with the team to charities.
