After last summer's Olympic silver, the Swedish women's soccer team climbed from place five to place two in Fifa's world ranking.

When Fifa now, before this summer's European Championships, releases a new ranking, Sweden remains in its second place after one USA.

Third is France, which plays in Group D with Italy, Belgium and Iceland in the European Championships.

Sweden's group opponent the Netherlands takes a step up to fourth place in the ranking and Germany loses a place and gets fifth place.

Sweden starts the European Championships on 9 July 21.00 (Swedish time) when they meet the Netherlands on Bramall Lane.
