The Hand Federation is holding the draw for the new season for various groups

Today, the Emirates Handball Federation held the draw for the new sports season 2022/2023, for men's, youth, junior, cubs and juniors competitions.

The draw was held at the federation's headquarters in Dubai, in the presence of Nasser Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the federation, Daoud Al Malih, head of the Competitions Committee, and representatives of the clubs.

The season’s competitions for the men’s category will be held through 3 competitions, namely the League, the Vice President’s Cup, and the Emirates Cup, with the participation of 8 teams: Sharjah, Al Jazeera, Shabab Al Ahly, Al Nasr, Al Wasl, Al Ain, Maliha, and Dibba Al Hisn.

According to the draw that determined the confrontations of the different weeks of the championship, the season’s activities will open with Al-Ahly youth with Dibba Al-Hisn, Al-Jazeera with Sharjah, Maliha with Al-Wasl, and Al-Ain with Al-Nasr in the first week.

In the Emirates Cup draw, the teams were divided into two groups, each with 4 teams, and they were classified according to their ranking in the General League championship last season. Al-Ain and Dibba Al-Hisn.

The draw revealed the confrontations of the three rounds of the two groups in the preliminary round of the tournament.

In the semi-final matches, the matches will be held between the first and second place holders from each group at the end of the preliminary round.. It is held by a system of one-match exclusionary confrontations, and the final will be played in one match on a neutral hall to be determined later.


In the Vice President’s Cup, the teams were divided into two groups, the first includes Al-Wasl, Al-Nasr, Dibba Al-Hisn and Maliha, and the second includes Al-Ain, Shabab Al-Ahly, Sharjah and Al-Jazeera.

The preliminary round is held in a periodic system of one round for each group.

In the semi-finals, the third of the first group meets the fourth of the second group, the third of the second group meets the fourth of the first, the first of the first with the second of the second, and the first of the second with the second of the first.

The final is played between the winner of the first group and the winner of the first group of the second.

In the youth category, 6 teams are participating, namely Sharjah, Al Ain, Shabab Al Ahly, Al Jazira, Al Nasr and Al Wasl. The teams meet over a period of 5 weeks in the first round and the same in the second round.

In the junior competition, 10 teams will participate: Sharjah, Al Jazeera, Bani Yas, Al-Ahly Youth, Al-Wasl, Al-Nasr, Al-Bataeh, Ittihad Kalba, Dibba Al-Hisn and Al-Ain, while the Cubs League draw saw the participation of 16 teams, divided into 4 groups. 4 sets.
