Jung Woo-young, who debuted in 2019, took the Rookie of the Year title with a sinker that quickly curves toward the body of a right-handed hitter, and has grown into the league's best bullpen by increasing his speed.

He averaged 143.57 km in 2019 and is 151.24 km this season, a whopping 8 km in three years.

Last month he hit 157km/h, the fastest speed ever.

Among the major league sidearms, Justin Lawrence of Colorado is the only pitcher with a faster sinker than Jung Woo-young.

Last winter, I increased my weight by 14 kg and muscle mass by 5 kg due to severe weight training, which led to a rapid improvement in speed.

Jung Woo-young threw only the sinker with 96% of the sinker usage rate this season .

He is recording an ERA of 1 point with the best groundball inducement rate.

Jung Woo-young expressed his aspiration to one day challenge the big league stage like his role model Lim Chang-yong.

Once I do well in Korea, I have the intention to go (to the major leagues) if the opportunity arises.]
