The government is proposing new bills to strengthen the work against match-fixing.

In the legal council's referral, it is proposed today that sports federations may process personal data - in order to combat match-fixing.

- It is very gratifying that the government is strengthening the work against match-fixing, which is one of the biggest threats to sports.

It has been a work in headwinds for a long time and now we see a light in the tunnel, says Björn Eriksson, chairman of RF.

The government also wants a requirement for gaming companies to share information in case of suspicion of increased match-fixing.

- With the changes that the government is now proposing, the handcuffs will be removed and together we can hunt down those who destroy our sport.

The ambition is for the mentioned bills to enter into force on 1 July 2023.
