Several of the world's top tennis players will start when the Nordea Open in Båstad begins on 4 July.

- It is an incredibly good starting field.

The last of the eight seeded players, Holger Rune from Denmark, is ranked 28th in the world.

It is fantastic for a competition like Båstad, says tournament director Magnus Norman.

In addition, the three-time Grand Slam winner Stanislas Wawrinka has received a wild card.

- For my own part, I think it will be fun that Stan Wawrinka, who I have worked with for ten years, comes to Sweden and Båstad.

He has won three Grand Slams over the years that Nadal, Djokovic and Federer have played, it's fantastic, Norman says.

On the other hand, Mikael Ymer, who with his 90th place in the world rankings is the highest ranked of all Swedish men's players, will not compete in this year's edition.

- The last name in is in place 55 on the world ranking and Mikael is well around place 90 so he was quite far from coming by on his own.

But of course we still want to include "Micke" but he said no and it is sad for us but at the same time I respect his decision, says Norman.

Do not the top Swedish players usually look forward to playing this competition?

- Historically, it has always been so.

Even though they were in the top ten in the world, they liked to play Davis Cup, Båstad and Stockholm.

But you have to have respect for "Micke", it may not really fit with his plans this year.

When SVT Sport reaches Ymer's agent Marijn Bal, he is speechless.

- He has only decided not to play the competition, it is his personal decision.

Will he compete in any other competition at the same time as the Nordea Open is being played?

- I'm not sure what he will do if I am to be honest.

I will not comment on this further.

It is Mikael's decision and we have to live with it, says Bal.
