Maja Stark has been successful since she took the step up as a golf professional.

In total, there have been three professional titles for the 22-year-old, but in this weekend's European tour competitions in Halmstad it was harder.

Stark did not make the cut and had finished playing after two rounds - and this weekend she announced that she needs a break.

“The last few months have been very hectic and I have now finally started to reflect properly.

I do not think I was prepared for how much travel, play, media and life would affect my brain and my body, but it has definitely taken its toll and I can not say that I recognize myself when I am out playing ", She writes on Instagram.

"Woke up in pain"

She further writes that there were signs that she needed a break, such as injuries and mood swings.

"I felt like I was a 'real athlete' when I woke up in pain every day, but it's exhausting and it's definitely not the right way to go if I want to do this properly.

Misunderstand me right, I've had one of the best times of my life this season and I would not like any other profession, but my brain is tired and my body hurts, so I have to prioritize getting proper rest (starting with two weeks off now), and find my best self again ”, she writes.
