Just over a month ago, Manchester City announced on their website that they had agreed with Borussia Dortmund on a transfer.

However, the personal contract has not been finalized.

Until now.

"Is a proud day"

Today, the day after Haaland with two goals and a goal-scoring pass was behind Norway's victory against Sweden in the Nations League, City writes on their website that 21-year-old Haaland signed a five-year contract with Manchester City.

- This is a proud day for me and my family.

I've always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons.

It is impossible not to admire their style of play, it is exciting and they create many chances, which is perfect for a player like me.

There are so many world-class players in the squad and Pep (manager Guardiola) is one of the best managers of all time, so I think I am in the right place to fulfill my ambitions, says Haaland on City's website.

"Want to score"

Erling Braut Haaland's father Alf-Inge Haaland played in Manchester City 2000-03.

He signed for Manchester City exactly 22 years ago, on June 13, 2000. Now his son - who was born just a couple of weeks before his father's debut in City - is looking forward to playing for them.

- I want to score goals, win trophies and become a better football player, and I am convinced that I can do this.

This is a great move for me and I can not wait to get started with the pre-season, he says.

Since Erling Braut Haaland's move from Austrian Salzburg to German Borussia Dortmund in January 2020, he has scored an impressive 86 goals in 89 competitive matches.
