In advance, it looked bright for Ferrari ahead of the Grand Prix competition in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Charles Leclerc started in pole position for the fourth race in a row while stablemate Carlos Sainz started four.

But, it was a long way from a successful day in Baku for Ferrari.

First, Carlos Sainz was forced to break with an engine failure after nine laps.

Eleven laps later, Leclerc's engine crashed and he too was forced to break.

It was thus the first time that Ferrari was zeroed during this year's season and they lose important points in the battle for the world title and constructor title.

Success for Red Bull

Instead, it became Red Bull for all the money.

Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen started in second and third place respectively.

After both Ferrari cars gave up, it therefore became an open street for the Red Bull cars.

Max Verstappen took over the lead and was able to drive home the victory easily in Baku before just stable colleague Perez.

The victory was Verstappen's fourth of the year.

He thus jerks to the top in the battle to defend the world title.

Stable colleague Sergio Perez also goes up to second place in the overall standings with today's race.
