With a victory against Finland fresh in their minds, the aim was set for a replay when Sweden met the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals of the U18 World Cup in the USA.

But it was far from obvious with a profit entry in the minutes.

After just under five minutes played in the first period, the Czech Republic scored their first, and what would be their only, goal.

But it took until the last minute of the game in the same period before Swedish Nicole Hall put the puck in the net and reduced to 1-1.

- This is where she is best at coming in and shooting, rock hard shot past the goalkeeper, says SVT's expert Maria Rooth.

"Important for Swedish hockey"

Jenna Raunio then drew 2-1 to Sweden early in the second period and the result stood out since the match, despite hard pressure with one more player at the end for the Czech Republic.

With a few seconds left, the Czech Republic had a great position but passed unselfishly instead of firing.

- How happy I am for the girls.

How important it is for Swedish hockey, says Rooth.

They meet in the semifinals

Sweden is thus on to the semifinals and there awaits the group winner, also the reigning champions USA.

The match is played the night before Monday.

- Sweden has nothing to lose, can hopefully play themselves since they last met.

The United States should just win and it's not always that easy.

In the second semifinal, Canada and Finland will meet.
