Father and son raise motorcycling deaths in Britain to five (video)

The number of deaths in the (Isle of Man TT) motorcycle race in Britain in its current version, and in just two weeks, has risen to five yesterday, after organizers announced the death of the British father and son Roger and Bradley in an accident.

The father and his son, aged 56 and 21, respectively, were competing as driver and passenger when the accident occurred on the last lap.

They finished eighth in the event's first side race on public roads around the island off the northwest coast of England.

French driver Cesar Chanel died at the scene last Saturday.

Organizers initially said passenger Olivier Laforel had died, but last Wednesday announced they had misidentified the dead man.

British rider Mark Purslow, 29, died in qualifying last Wednesday, as well as veteran rider Dave Morgan, 52, of Northern Ireland, on Monday.

The event, which has been running since 1907, is considered one of the most dangerous in motorsports, with 262 deaths in the TT, Manx Grand Prix and TT Classic.
