- This is the last team I will play for, said Alexander Rudd in an interview with UNT earlier this year.

Despite that statement, the former national team star is now ready for Gävle.

On Saturday, it was presented on the club's social media.

"In his moments he is the best player in the world", they write and continue:

"Alex will add a lot of routine, experience and lift the team and the club to another dimension."

Broke the contract in Switzerland

Rudd most recently came from playing for the Swiss club Ad Astra Sarnen, but the contract with the club was broken prematurely.

Rudd played his last match in earnest at the end of February against UHC Waldkirch St.

In the qualifier against the Unihockey Tigers, he was absent for health reasons.

His health prevented him from participating in training and further matches.

To give Rudd a chance to fully recover and get fully healthy again, the contract has now been terminated prematurely ", the club wrote on its Instagram.

Sentenced to community service

Last year, Rudd was sentenced to probation with 75 hours of community service for drug offenses, minor drug offenses and drunk driving.

Then he belonged to Storvreta but after a break from the club, the move went to Ad Astra Sarnen in the Swiss top league.

Among other things, Rudd has won two World Cup gold medals with the Swedish national team.

He also has three Swedish Championship golds with Storvreta and has been named the world's second best player.
