The national team match between Son Heung-min (Tottenham) and Mohammed Salah (Liverpool), the co-scorer of the English Premier League (EPL) for the 2021-2022 season, has ended.

The Korea Football Association announced on the 11th, "The Egyptian Football Association has informed us that Salah's injury will prevent him from visiting Korea for a friendly match this morning."

The soccer team, led by coach Paulo Bento, is scheduled to play a friendly match against Egypt on the 14th as the last match of the A-match in June to prepare for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

As the match between Korea and Egypt was completed, attention was also drawn to the match between Son Heung-min and Salah, a goalkeeper of the same age born in 1992, who scored 23 goals side by side in the EPL for the 2021-2022 season and became the joint top scorer.

However, it was unclear whether he would be able to visit Korea due to Salah's injury.

Egypt national team coach Ihab Galal said that Salah played with an injury during the African Cup of Nations qualifier match against Guinea on the 6th.

"Sala was injured before Guinea, but he insisted on playing," Galal said, without commenting on the location and severity of the injury.

Afterwards, the Egyptian Football Association announced, "As a result of the detailed examination, [Sala's injury] was identified as a mild muscle sprain."

The English media Egypt Independent predicted that Salah would return to the team after taking a break from the Ethiopia match and playing against Korea, but in the end, Salah's visit to Korea failed.

The Egyptian national team is scheduled to arrive in Korea on the 12th.
