Kohei Kameyama, a gymnast who participated in the Tokyo Olympics last year, has announced on SNS that he will retire.

This was revealed on YouTube, the video posting site of the Tokushukai Gymnastics Club to which Kameyama belongs.

In this, Kameyama said, "I am retiring. I would like to express my gratitude for what I felt while doing gymnastics at the press conference," and announced his retirement.

Kameyama is planning to hold his retirement interview this month.

Kameyama is 33 years old from Miyagi prefecture.

When he was four, he started playing at a local gymnastics club and practiced at Saitama Sakae High School and Sendai University.

He won a gold medal in a pommel horse by event at the 2013 World Championships due to his magnificent turning with a pommel horse, and contributed to the group's silver medal at the 2014 World Championships.
