The Egyptian communication platforms witnessed a wave of widespread anger and calls for the departure of the coach of the Pharaohs, Ihab Galal, after the defeat by Ethiopia with two clean goals in the qualifiers for the African Nations Cup 2023.

The Egyptian team showed a very lackluster performance throughout the meeting that took place yesterday, Thursday, and failed to reach the goal of the Ethiopian team, which managed to get out with the three points.

Egypt bottomed in the fourth group of qualifiers, with 3 points and a goal difference only from the leaders Ethiopia and Malawi, the runners-up, along with Equatorial Guinea in third place.

The Egyptian coach - who led his second game since taking over the team leadership - justified the loss by the bad pitch, and told reporters after the match, "We played a very bad match and there are many influential things that we can talk about, but the team performed this very bad performance in the first half."

He added, "We had some problems in dealing with the pitch, and in the beginning we lost the ball in many situations and to some extent we started the game feeling comfortable, and the players treated the match recklessly. I was surprised by the players' performance, and the rain helped the opponent somewhat put pressure on our players."

After the match, voices rose to dismiss Jalal, the former coach of the "Misr El-Makasa" and Pyramids clubs.

The local federation said it would hold an emergency meeting to discuss the repercussions of the loss from Ethiopia.

The federation did not specify the date of the meeting or its agenda, although some expected the meeting to result in the dismissal of Jalal after only two matches with the 7-time African champion, who lost yesterday for the first time against Ethiopia in 23 years.

The journalist Ibrahim Abdel-Gawad demanded - in a tweet to him via Twitter - justifications from the Football Association about the reason for the dismissal of former coach Carlos Queiroz, and the use of Jalal.

Why did you walk Queiroz?

Why did you get Ihab Jalal?

What is your plan to rise in Egyptian football?

Are you going to ask a new art director what?

Would you like Ras Brass?

We prefer in the mill and Haorini O cake?

Have mercy on us, we deserve better than this, I swear to God

Journalist Abdel Qader Saeed also considered that yesterday's defeat is borne by the coach 100% because of his unsuccessful choices and failed interventions in the match.

As for the journalist, Reham Hamdi, she expressed her surprise at giving Jalal the opportunity to lead the Pharaohs, even though everyone was demanding a contract with a foreign coach, as she put it.

On the other hand, after the tweeters, he launched an attack on the local football association, who chose Jalal, whose training experience did not exceed two local clubs, "Misr El-Maqasa" and Al-Ahram "Pyramids".

The former star of the national team, Al-Ahly and Zamalek, Ibrahim Saeed, demanded the coach to resign, along with the officials of the Game Association, saying that there was no way to give them a chance (again).

As for Muhammad Fares, he tweeted, “It is for the Secretariat to dismiss Jalal, a very bold and correct decision,” but “the boldest and most correct decision is the resignation of the Football Association.”

A defeat that is borne by 100% Ehab Galal, wrong choices, wrong formation, wrong changes, wrong way of playing. As for everyone who played this match, he is a player without blood because there was no spirit or jealousy in the name of the Egyptian team, and they are all satisfied with the loss, no one makes an extra effort even

Really, I do not understand how we decided to answer Ehab Jalal, even though everyone wanted a foreign coach, and how he could be fired after he was fired. I

mean, the first decision is to study when and the second is to study when, and is there a plan at all for after the dismissal, if it really happened, and there is no hindrance in our old books

— Reham Hamdi (@rehamhamdii) June 9, 2022

To be honest, the decision to dismiss Ihab Jalal is a very bold and correct decision, but the boldest and most correct decision is the resignation of the Football Association.

Ehab Jalal and the Football Association submit their resignations

immediately

, there is no room to give enough opportunity

Until now I understand that we are in our mood, Ihab Jalal has chosen us as a coach for the national team 😀

The Football Association, before it thinks about dismissing Ihab Jalal, must first think about resigning

. The Egyptian football needs new cadres away from the current group.
