When the new world ranking was presented, it was clear that Fredricson would lose his place at the top and be a new third instead.
Fredricson had been world number one since October 2021.
After the Olympic success last summer, where he together with Fredricson and Malin Baryard Johnsson won gold in team jumping, Henrik von Eckermann has continued to impress.
Among other things, he won the St. Tropez GP, with King Edward, in April.
In a TT interview at the end of May, Henrik von Eckermann was asked about the possibility of becoming world number one:
- Strangely enough, I feel, so lately, that it is less important when it comes to a World Cup.
I usually say that it resolves itself.
If I win the World Cup or the competitions I bet on, I have a chance.
If I get to choose, I would rather win the World Cup and that means I will be world number one, so why not, he said.
New world number one is the Swiss Martin Fuchs.
