4 awards for the "Etihad Airways Formula 1 Grand Prix" after the records of the 2021 season

The 2021 Abu Dhabi Etihad Airways Grand Prix won four awards during the ninth edition of the Middle East Sports Industry Awards, which highlights the region's most important sporting events during the season.

The 13th edition of the race set records, and decided the drivers' world championship title between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton on the new design of the Yas Marina Circuit track.

The final race of the World Championship was watched by more than 108 million spectators around the world.

With the huge audience that the race achieved in 2021 and the increasing popularity of the sport of Formula 1, the final race of the 2022 season is witnessing an unprecedented demand for tickets for the event in all its categories.

Saif Al Nuaimi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management Company, said in a press statement: “We dedicate this award to all our partners in organizing the race at the Yas Marina Circuit, where the efforts of cadres from a selection of the largest companies and leading institutions in the region are joining forces to present a global event that confirms the leading position that Abu Dhabi enjoys hosting major international sporting events.

The Etihad Airways Grand Prix won the Gold Award for the best sporting event of the year, after voting by an independent panel of judges comprising of elite sports sector experts in the region.

The event also won the second place award in the category of best sports marketing campaign.
