Defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning fought his way back into the semi-final series with another home win in the North American professional ice hockey league NHL and can continue to dream of winning the third Stanley Cup in a row.

In the fourth game of the best-of-seven series, Tampa Bay defeated the New York Rangers 4-1 and tied 2-2.

The Florida team had already won their first home game of the series on Sunday (local time).

Pat Maroon (3rd) gave Tampa Bay the lead.

Nikita Kutscherow (34'), Steven Stamkos (45') and Ondrej Palat (60'/Empty Net) scored the other goals.

Artemi Panarin (57th) had shortly before scored the goal for the Rangers, who had last won the Stanley Cup in 1994.

Game five takes place on Friday night (2 a.m. / Sky) at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The winner of the Eastern Conference Finals meets Colorado Avalanche with German international Nico Sturm in the finals series.

Colorado defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-0 with star striker Leon Draisaitl.

The 27-year-old Augsburger Sturm is the eighth German ice hockey player with the chance to win the Stanley Cup.

So far, the trophy has been won by Uwe Krupp, who even shot the Colorado Avalanche to win the title in 1996.

He was followed in 2011 by Dennis Seidenberg with the Boston Bruins, Tom Kühnhackl in 2016 and 2017 with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philipp Grubauer in 2018 with the Washington Capitals.

Olaf Kölzig, Christoph Schubert and Christian Ehrhoff also had a chance of winning.

Kölzig lost to the Detroit Red Wings in the final series with the Washington Capitals in 1998, while Schubert lost to the Anaheim Ducks in 2007 with the Ottawa Senators.

Ehrhoff lost the German duel against Seidenberg with the Vancouver Canucks in 2011.

The start of the finals series depends on the outcome of the semifinals between the Rangers and the Lightning.
