The Australian team dashed the dreams of its UAE counterpart in qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar, after beating it 2-1 today, Tuesday, at the "Ahmed Bin Ali" stadium in the Qatari city of Al Rayyan, in the Asian qualifiers.

The Australian team advanced with a goal scored by Jackson Evren (53) and the UAE team tied through Cayo Canedo (56), before the Australian team scored the winning goal in the 84th minute when


Agden Hrostek hit a powerful ball that hit Ali Salmin and hugged the net.

The Australian team qualified for the World Cup play-off match against Peru, which is ranked fifth in the South American qualifiers, and the match will be held next Monday at the same stadium to determine the qualifier for the Qatar World Cup, which will be held from November 21 to December 18.

The winner will move from the international play-off to play in the finals in Group D, which also includes France, Denmark and Tunisia.
