Consumption Renault and Yamaha, the brands with the most calls for review since 2010
The German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz will have to overhaul almost a million cars worldwide
due to a problem with the braking system.
This has been announced by the German Federal Transport Authority (KBA for its acronym), which indicates that the affected vehicles are
SUVs of the ML and GL series, as well as units of the R-Class minivan manufactured between 2004 and 2015. In total, the users of 993,407 vehicles are called for review,
of which about 70,000 in Germany.
"Corrosion in the brake booster can, in the worst case, cause the connection between the pedal and the braking system to be interrupted.
As a consequence, the service brake can stop working,"
the authorities point out.
Although there is no record of accidents linked to this failure.
Mercedes-Benz confirmed the information to the AFP agency, saying that the measure was based on "the analysis of isolated reports for certain vehicles".
The company said it
would "begin recall immediately" and contact owners of "potentially affected vehicles."
