Colorado has linked the grip on the semifinals of NHL ice hockey playoffs.

The third straight against Edmonton came on away ice during the night towards Sunday, Swedish time, with a 4-2 victory.

- When we calmed down after that first period, we did well by pushing them.

They lost most of their flow in the match.

It is undeniably a great victory, but the job is not finished yet, says Colorado's team captain Gabriel Landeskog.

If Colorado wins another match, it will be the first time the team plays in the final since taking home the dent in 2001.

Hit the post

The team offered playoff drama in Rogers Place.

Edmonton took the lead through Connor McDavid, followed by two goals from Colorado's Valery Nitushkin.

In the third period, Edmonton equalized via Ryan McLeod, and then it smelled like Edmonton's victory.

A shot hit Colorado's goal post, but ended up with Andrew Cogliano who was able to clear.

In the offensive zone, JT Compher then managed to fight for the puck and put it between the legs of Mike Smith for the match-winning goal.

Mikko Rantanen then put the final 4-2 goal in the open box with half a minute left.

Also secure away

Colorado has thus won the last six matches played on away ice.

The next match, during the night against Tuesday Swedish time, will also take place in Edmonton.

- I do not know what the secret is, but I think we are better when it comes to the details at home.

We are a little slower (away), even if we manage to be well placed, everyone finds each other offensively and defensively.

We are not here to play crowd-pleasing, says Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon.
