Ingrid Lindblad continues to surprise.

After Thursday's record round of 65 strokes, the lowest ever by an amateur at the US Open, she set another record during the second round.

Lindblad managed to keep the game together and go on par - which means that she is now the amateur with the lowest number of strokes after 36 holes in the competition's history.

Her 135 strokes (six under par) is one stroke better than the previous record set by South Korean Grace Park in 1999 at Old Waverly.

The score means that she is still in the top of the US Open, in a shared fifth place, before the two final rounds.

Up to the leader duo, Minjee Lee, Australia and Mina Hariage, USA, there are only three differences.

- I have to play my own game and not focus on what happens outside, Lindblad says in Viaplay.

Nordqvist is split third

In a split third place, one stroke ahead of Lindblad, we find Anna Nordqvist who went the second round on three strokes under par.

A nice message of form considering that she was forced to withdraw from last week's competition due to illness symptoms.

- Honestly, it sucked not being able to play last.

I am grateful to be here and I feel in decent shape, says Nordqvist in Viaplay.

Frida Kinhult (+1) and Linnea Johansson (+2) also passed the qualifying limit even though they have a good distance up to the leader duo.
