It was long even at the top of the women's class.

After half the race, they were nine in the crowd but then they started to lose the feeling one by one.

After three and a half miles, four runners remained, after 40 miles only two and then Tsige Haileslase put in the overdrive and finally won by a half minute margin down to second Pauline Korikwiang from Kenya.

- This was my first marathon.

I am very pleased with the competition and that I won today, says Haileslase in TV4.

The best Swede was Hanna Lindblom in fifth place and thus the 42-year-old took her first Swedish Championship gold in marathon.
