Joshua Kimmich scored a goal to give Germany a 1-1 draw with hosts Italy in the UEFA Nations League, on Saturday evening, and maintain their unbeaten record with coach Hans Flick.

Italy, seeking to overcome the disappointment of not qualifying for the World Cup for the second time in a row, fielded a reserve squad for their Group C match in Bologna, and gave Flick's team a tough test.

Roma's Lorenzo Pellegrini opened the scoring for Italy 20 minutes before the end, and the team looked on their way to their second victory in the last 6 matches, but Kimmich equalized 3 minutes later.

Germany have won 8 matches and drawn twice since Flick took charge following the departure of Joachim Loew from the national team after last year's European Championship.

Germany will play England next Tuesday, while Italy will play Hungary.
