It was near Slussen that the mistakes began, first the three runners in the lead were pointed in the wrong direction, a mistake that was corrected fairly immediately.
The next mistake, however, was not as quick to sort out.
That is when the runners ran straight ahead instead of turning up on Folkungagatan - and lost over a minute in the process.
- We are gathering to understand it ourselves, so right now I can not give any information.
But I really like to talk more about a little while when we have gathered together, says David Fridell, operations manager at the Marathon Group, which arranges the competition.
