"Miss Zalal" snatches the Al Wathba Cup from the males in Toulouse

The skilled "Miss Zalal" of Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani won the Al Wathba Stallions Cup for a distance of 2000 metres, which was held today, Saturday, at the French Toulouse Racecourse, under the patronage of the 14th edition of the His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan International Racing Festival for Purebred Arabian Horses.

The Al Wathba Stallions Cup series will be held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, with the aim of encouraging small owners and breeders to breed and acquire purebred Arabian horses, which have a broad base and great interest in Europe


. The grass track, in which 14 male and female fillies at the age of only three years participated, competed for financial prizes of 16 thousand euros, and was characterized by excitement and suspense after the skilled "Miss Zalal" snatched the male title.


The champion was led to the victory by the jockey Clement Merly, under the supervision of de Gulimin, slightly superior to the pony "Sca de Liagly" led by Jerome Capri, while "Mother of the Hills" led by Mathias Loren came in third place, and the champion traveled the distance in 2:17:40 minutes.


On the other hand, 11 horses are competing in the Al Wathba Stallions Cup race for a distance of 2,300 meters, which is held at Warghem Track in the Kingdom of Belgium, and is dedicated to purebred Arabian horses aged four years and over, and the prize is 5,000 euros.
