With four weeks left until the World Cup in Denmark, where the falu boy will defend his title, SVT Sport will meet him in central Stockholm, where he will finally be able to test on a tough competition-like workout.

A promising feeling and good indications all the way to the last steps on the track - which ends in a hefty lap on a rainy slope and a collision with a lamppost!

- It sums up my year quite well.

Adversity, he says and smiles crookedly with a tightly wrapped right thigh that has been hit by a lighter thigh cake.

Last summer, the happiness was all the greater.

A sprint talent unknown to the public who, after a weaker World Cup qualifier in the Czech Republic, started early in the field, took the lead and then got to see one by one the stars beaten.

A gold that resonated in the industry.

- It was something that they fought for for a long time, but which still came quite unexpectedly in some way.

It is a dream come true.

It was just joy, says von Krusenstierna who is still ranked only 33rd in the world in the discipline.

The mood changed drastically when the basic training for this season started.

He suffered a stress fracture in one shin, something that was only discovered in January.

It was months of rehab with water running, cycling and cross trainer as tools and once he started running little by little, a troubled knee got in the way.

Former world champion in support

In the middle of it all, he has still had good support, not least through the national team's sprint coach Jonas Leandersson, himself a former world champion and civilian-trained physiotherapist.

A force that has been able to provide good career advice in terms of both technology, running and injury management.

- It is difficult to find someone who can give better advice and is world champion in sprint orienteering.

It's a luxury.

On this day, Leandersson acts as a shadow runner on the pass, films the adept's actions and finally also steps in as a paramedic when the accident occurs.

But above all I like what he saw out on the track.

- Isac has real sprint qualities and they are in the spinal cord.

He is very hungry today when he has not run for a long time, but he handles it very well technically.

Today was a first test to be able to hold the map and feel this with sprints and changes of direction, purely for his body as well, says Leandersson who is still hopeful that the latest injury will be dealt with quickly.

The national team and von Krusenstierna are currently in Denmark on a World Cup camp, a week and a half to get some feeling and special training before the championship which is decided at the end of June (and broadcast here on SVT). And the reigning world champion can still find something positive with the setbacks.

- Yes, that almost no one believes in me.

A little that I go under the radar.

I like to beat out inferiority, do not get so much pressure on me ...
