Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha, a rolling story.

The Yamaha Factory Racing team, Yamaha's official team in MotoGP, announced on Thursday the extension of their reigning world champion rider, Fabio Quartararo.

This announcement marks the end of the suspense over the future of the Frenchman, whose contract ends at the end of the season, while he complains about the lack of pace of his bike against the competition this season.

"I feel that Yamaha is sincerely motivated"

Which could suggest a departure from El Diablo.

Discussions were reportedly started with Suzuki, before we learned that the team would probably no longer be involved in Moto GP in 2023. An agreement was therefore finally reached between the rider from Nice and the official Yamaha team for a two-year contract, until 2024.

And the Japanese brand seems to have promised him a more efficient motorcycle for the coming seasons.

"We know that Fabio is 100% invested in doing his best and we have guaranteed him that Yamaha will do the same and invest in future developments to ensure that we fight for the championship title. of the Moto GP World in the years to come”, explains Lin Jarvis, the boss of Yamaha.

“I believe in the Yamaha project and I feel that Yamaha is sincerely motivated,” reacted Fabio Quartararo.

The drivers are in Barcelona this weekend for the Catalunya GP, the ninth meeting of the season.
