He says that they were selected but did not say yes.

- We sent out who were selected and we have also had a dialogue with them themselves whether they should join or not, Byström explains

What signals did you receive when you sent out the press release that they were selected in the A national team?

- What we presented were those who were selected, which was not strange, then we said at the press conference that we would continue the dialogue with a few pieces and that things could happen after that.

How surprised were you by yesterday's message?

- No, of course not because we had the dialogue all the time.

I know how they have thought so it is not a shock right away but we have tried to find good solutions.

Then we wanted them to decide yesterday because it has taken so long and we have the kickoff with the first camp in Falun today.

It was good that a decision was made.

Not given that Karlsson's and Dahlqvist's seats will be replaced

Will their places in the A national team be replaced by other people?

- We have criteria that you should have been high up in the World Cup and we got to look at who can meet those criteria.

Then we will see if they should possibly be replaced.

Actually, it's Maja's and Frida's places, they're the ones that are selected.

If you look at Team Bauhaus, there are, among others, Moa Hansson and Louise Lindström there.

How are they?

- They will be in all camps anyway and we have to evaluate if they have good results, but as the situation is now, the squad we have taken out.

All agreements signed

Do you expect no more dropouts in the future?

- No, the others have signed the agreement and will come here tonight for the kickoff in Falun.

Then the dialogue with the riders continues all the time.

What does it mean that the national team misses such big stars in the business?

(also Linn Svahn runs under his own direction)

- If you are familiar with the world of cross-country skiing, you realize that we have our elite environments in Falun and Östersund, where basically all skiers live.

They (Karlsson and Dahlqvist) will train with the groups everyday.

At camp, the others get good sparring anyway, we have perhaps the world's best all-round skier in Jonna Sundling so the group is very strong even though we will miss Frida and Maja.

Do you think it is we in the media who magnify that it feels messy in the national team?

- Yes, but it is your job to enlarge it, otherwise you would not get stuff to write about, so I understand that but we continue to develop the groups and that dynamic feels very good.
