French Sports Minister Amelie Oudea-Castera commented on the scenes that took place before the Champions League final.

"The fact is that Real Madrid had organized everything for their fans, with buses from the airport.

Everything from start to finish.

Which was in stark contrast to what Liverpool did, letting the fans "out into the wild" - which made a big difference, "Oudea-Castera told Reuters.

The country's interior minister Gerald Darmanin also said that "it had been a large-scale ticket counterfeiting at the industrial level".

In a letter to the Sports Minister, Liverpool chairman Tom Werner called her comments "unprofessional, negligent and disrespectful", reports Reuters.

Werner also criticizes how the final was organized.

"The Champions League final is supposed to be one of the finest events in the sports world, but instead it ended with one of the biggest safety collapses in recent times."

Uefa has launched an independent investigation into the events at the Stade de France and Oudea-Castera has said that a report will be available within ten days.
