An official statement by Al-Ahly of Egypt after losing the African Champions League

Al-Ahly Club of Egypt stressed, today, Tuesday, that it did not call for any emergency meeting during the coming period to discuss any technical and administrative matters related to the club’s first football team, despite losing the African Champions League title, Monday, against Moroccan Wydad, with two goals for free.

Al-Ahly said in a press statement on its official website, in response to what was reported by Egyptian media about the existence of an emergency meeting to determine the fate of South African coach Petso Musimani: “The board of directors did not call for any emergency meetings to discuss any technical or administrative matters related to the first football team, and all that was reported. In this regard, it is completely untrue."

It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly fans blamed coach Mosimane for the loss against Wydad for his poor tactical choices and the lineup with which he started the match, as well as the recruitment of players on the field.
