The experienced Amandine Henry, Eugénie Le Sommer and Kheira Hamraoui are the main absentees from the list of 23 Bleues for the Women's Euro in England (July 6-31), made public on Monday May 30 by Corinne Deacon, who also dismissed Perle Morroni and Viviane Asseyi.

The absence of Amandine Henry was expected.

The OL midfielder, ex-captain of Les Bleues, has not been called up since winter 2020, after public criticism of Deacon.

Hamraoui is also not in the group selected on Monday.

The defensive midfielder has not played for Paris Saint-Germain for a month and her relations are icy with certain teammates in the club and with Les Bleues, such as Kadidiatou Diani and Marie-Antoinette Katoto.

Le Sommer, top scorer in the history of Les Bleues (86 goals), was not called up this season, a victim of fierce competition in attack.

“

I have choices to make, I will assume them until the end

”, assured the coach of the France team.

Asked about the absences of these executives, Deacon explained that "

the choices were difficult

(...),

like all lists

 ", and admitted that "

these players were successful" and that "the blue jersey represents something extraordinary

" for them, but "

we can't just rely on one-day performance, it's a long-term job

 ".

“

We have been working for a while with this group, which has also qualified for the next 2023 World Cup. We have managed to find a balance for a few months with experience and youth

 ”, added Deacon.

She recalled "

the common objective with the players, to meet at Wembley on July 31 for the final

" and win the first title in the history of the French women's team.
