The reigning champion team Malmö has risen slightly from its crisis, after three straight losses, MFF has this week first become cup champion and now defeated Degerfors away.

At Stora Valla, Malmö won 2-0 after two goals by Ola Toivonen.

The 35-year-old, who in the Allsvenskan club context may be mainly associated with Örgryte and Malmö, but the former national team striker comes from Degerfors, which is his mother club.

And against Degerfors, he gave MFF the lead early.

A long throw from Jonas Knudsen, in his first start in a year, eventually reached Toivonen who cunningly lifted in 1-0 to the guests.

And just before the break he extended the lead, Veljko Birmancevic got a surface on the left edge and he played obliquely, inwards, backwards to Toivonen who via the post became a two-goal shooter.

- It's a bit too slow pace sometimes, but it's not so strange because many have 120 minutes in their legs since a few days back in the cup final, says Ola Toivonen in Discovery + broadcast and then comments on the 2-0 goal.

Goalless second half

- I think a good attack, large area there on the left edge, almost a bit of a hit.

For the second half, Toivonen was replaced, he said that it felt a little strange in the groin.

Without Toivonen on the pitch, there was no goal, neither for Degerfors nor Malmö.

The Allsvenskan now has a summer break for a month.

In the next round, June 27, Skånederby is waiting at home against Helsingborg for Malmö.
