Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) resisted to the end to win the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, the 7th round of the Formula 1 World Championship, ahead of Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), after a race cut short due to rain and an accident.

Third place went to Dutchman Max Verstappen, ahead of Charles Leclerc, who started from pole position but was notably the victim of a strategic error on the part of his team which cost him the podium.

Verstappen is still leading the championship ahead of Leclerc at the end of a race whose start was delayed by more than an hour due to rain - then interrupted about twenty minutes after the German Mick Schumacher (Haas ), who escaped unscathed.
