Swedish Martin Regborn advanced in the second semifinal and the talent August Mollén won his semifinal, but was later dished out just like three other runners, including Gustav Bergman, in the third semifinal.

However, the disqualification was lifted shortly afterwards.

The reason for the disqualification was that the four orienteers ran through a hurdle, which at first it was thought was not allowed to run through but later decided was okay.

Norwegian Kasper Fosser, who would have advanced to the final if the washing up had taken place, then got a free place in the final.

Seven runners in the final field, that is.

And right after the start, confusion arose for August Mollén.

The map he read seemed to point in a different direction than the other runners', whereupon Mollén had to turn his back on the others in the field.

Despite this, Mollén became the best Swede, in third place.

Regborn was fifth.

Water made Swiss Matthias Kyburs.
