The kick-off of the Liverpool-Real Madrid Champions League final, originally scheduled for 9 p.m., has been delayed to 9.30 p.m., the two clubs have announced, a delay linked according to UEFA to access problems supporters at the Stade de France.

Long queues were seen minutes from the scheduled kick-off time, which was initially pushed back to 9.15pm.

Supporters tried to force a first filter installed around the stadium, but access to the enclosure remained "tight", said the Paris police headquarters (PP).

Videos posted on social media showed supporters scaling the stadium gates in an attempt to gain entry.

The Stade de France was not quite full ten minutes before kick-off, scheduled for 9:00 p.m., AFP journalists noted.

Mayhem outside the Stadium

A first cordon installed around the stadium was the subject of an "attempt to penetrate", confirmed the PP, as some Liverpool supporters grew impatient and annoyed with the organizers in the face of the weather. waiting, noted an AFP journalist.

Less than half an hour from the start of the match, the atmosphere became tense when a good thousand supporters found themselves slowed down at the level of the entrance to the Stade de France, contained by the forces of the order, in the street.

Annoyed, they shouted: "Open the gate" ("Open the door").

Then the supporters passed one by one, presenting their ticket, to pass the first control, noted AFP.

Tear gas was fired to prevent a few dozen young people from climbing barriers outside the stadium to try to approach, AFP noted.

About twenty young men had managed to cross them, before the intervention of the gendarmes.

A total of 6,800 police, gendarmes and firefighters were mobilized to provide security for the Champions League final at the Stade de France.

Authorities expected a surge of 30,000 to 40,000 Liverpool fans without a ticket to the final.
