The time was enough for a seventh place in the European-emphasized starting field.

But Lahti, who also had some problems with the back of the thigh, became the second best Swede of all time through the performance.

"A relief"

- It felt good all the way and I am very happy with a personal best today, says Lahti after the race.

She continues:

- It was a relief, I had to break last week because I had a little problem with my hoarding, so I thought about whether I should run or not, but I am very happy that I did it today, she says.

The distance was won by Ethiopian Dawit Sayaum who with a time of 14: 45.55 took the world year best.

Second and third were her compatriots Hawi Feysa and Fantu Worku.

"It's starting to drop"

The main goal for Sarah Lahti is the European Championships this summer, but the 27-year-old is also betting on the World Cup.

- I knew I was in good shape, but I have not really gotten it out the last few months so it's nice that it's starting to drop, she states, who wants to be at her best in August.

The Swedish record of 5000 meters on the women's side, 15:04, has Meraf Bahta.
