Bayern Munich president Oliver Kahn confirmed that Robert Lewandowski will continue with the team until the end of his contract in 2023, even if the player does not agree to renew the contract, to close the door to his almost certain move to Barcelona this season.

Bayern Munich officials have stated more than once that Lewandowski, 33, will not be allowed to leave the team this summer, despite rumors that Barcelona has a strong desire to sign the player.

"There is no doubt about it," Oliver Kahn told Welt am Sonntag newspaper. "Lewandowski has a contract until 2023 and he will stick to it."

And "Oliver Kahn" also announced that the Bavarian club had made an offer to extend Lewandowski's stay in the team.

"We made a concrete offer to his agent. Otherwise, we would certainly not have said this," he explained.

Lewandowski hinted at his desire to leave Bayern Munich after the team's last match of the season, after a title-rich career with Bayern that began since he joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2014.

In a related context, Spanish reports confirmed that Barcelona had reached an agreement with Lewandowski to join the Catalan team, which will be delayed by Oliver Kahn's statements, as he must complete his contract with Bayern until the summer of 2023.
