Koeman appoints his brother as his assistant coach for the Dutch national team

The Dutch Football Association announced that Ronald Koeman, who will succeed Louis van Gaal in the training of the "Tawhein" national team after the Qatar World Cup 2022, has chosen his brother Erwin as his assistant.

Erwin Koeman, 60, was a former assistant to his brother at Everton and Southampton.

"Irwin's three and a half years in England have taught me that he has a good vision of things and that we also work in an integrated way," Koeman said, according to the statement.

Former international Erwin Koeman played 31 caps for the Netherlands as a midfielder, and participated in the squad that won the European Championship in 1988, and also played in the 1990 World Cup.

After that, he moved to coaching, where he spent two years with Hungary.

Koeman also chose as part of his appointments Patrick Ludvoeks as the goalkeeper coach.

It will be Koeman's second time as coach of his country, knowing that he left his position in 2020 in order to coach Barcelona, who sacked him last October due to poor results.
