"Mohamed Salah insulted" .. Revealing the referee of the match between Al-Ahly and Wydad in the final of the African Champions

The head of the referees committee of the Egyptian Football Association, Essam Abdel-Fattah, revealed the referee of the match between Al-Ahly and Wydad in the final of the African Champions League scheduled for May 30, on the Mohammed V complex in Casablanca.

Abdel-Fattah told MBC Egypt: "The South African referee, Victor Gomez, will manage the final of the African Champions League."

Gomez is considered one of the referees who has long been criticized by the Egyptian public, especially after the controversial scene that he showed in an interview with the captain of the Pharaohs team, the English star of Liverpool, Mohamed Salah, during the final match of the African Nations Cup, which brought Egypt with Senegal and ended in the interest of the latter with a penalty shootout. The referee then entered into an argument with Salah asked him to catch the whistle and run the match instead!

At that time, social networking sites sparked anger at the South African referee, after the Egyptian fans considered his behavior an insult to a big star the size of Mohamed Salah and embarrassment to him, even though Salah bears the captain's armband and he has the right to talk with the referee about the arbitral decisions that accompanied the match.
