The Stockholm Open in the Royal Tennis Hall was first held in 1969.

Among the winners over the years are international stars such as Roger Federer, Boris Becker and John McEnroe.

Some of the Swedes who won the tournament are Björn Borg, Stefan Edberg and Thomas Enqvist.

The latest Swedish victory came in 2004 through Thomas Johansson.

SVT has broadcast many of the tournaments over the years, and this autumn will broadcast the Stockholm Open for the first time since 2013.

- Stockholm Open in tennis is a Swedish sports classic that fits well in our range.

We would like to broadcast when major international competitions are decided on Swedish soil and are very happy that we can now offer our large TV audience tennis at a high level, says SVT's sports director Åsa Edlund Jönsson.

Multiple Stockholm Open winner Thomas Enqvist is responsible for player recruitment for the 2022 tournament, and aims to present the first players in June.

- I am incredibly happy and proud of our collaboration with SVT.

The Stockholm Open is the flagship of Swedish tennis and an important part in inspiring the re-growth of tennis in Sweden.

SVT now gives us the chance to inspire more people and offer world-class tennis to everyone, says Thomas Enqvist.

SVT will broadcast from the entire Stockholm Open week on SVT1, SVT2 and SVT Play.
