Before game six against Florida, Washington was down 2-3 in games.

Florida also linked grips on match six, but with just over a minute left of regular playing time, Washington equalized through TJ Oshie and took the meeting to extra time.

But in the third minute of extra time, the playoffs were over for Washington when Florida's Carter Verhaeghe scored the winning goal.

- He's been incredible.

He accounted for five points in the last match and now he decides everything in a flash.

But it reflects our team, we have so many incredible people who can step forward and take over, says Florida's Patric Hörnqvist.

The match ended 4-3 to Florida.

- It is a disappointment, it feels like we in practice gave away the series, says Washington's Nicklas Bäckström.

Nicklas Bäckström, who scored one of Washington's goals, is now playable in the ice hockey World Cup in Finland, which for Sweden will start later on Saturday.

Washington's Johan Larsson is listed for an assist as is Florida's Patric Hörnqvist.

Florida meets Toronto or Tampa Bay in the quarterfinals.

- Now it's time for us to start playing our hockey in the matches, says Hörnqvist.
