A ridiculous price for a striker of the caliber of Haaland
The British press had given the imminent formalization of this transfer on Monday, indicating that the English club had informed its German counterpart of its intention to activate the player's release clause, initially mentioned at 75 million euros but which would ultimately be 60 million, according to several media.
A gigantic contract awaits him in Manchester which should immediately make him one of the highest paid players in the club and in the Premier League, with an estimated salary of more than 20 million euros per year and a 5-year contract. .
Barely two hours before this announcement, Pep Guardiola had indicated that he could not comment on the information on the player's upcoming signing.
“Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City have told me that I have no right to say anything until the transaction is completely closed,” the Spaniard replied in a press conference before the late match of the 33rd day of the Premier League, Wednesday, at Wolverhampton.
“I would love to talk about it, but they told me not to say anything (…) we will have time to talk about it” later, he added, leaning towards the microphone, with a smile.
