Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City have agreed in principle to transfer star striker Erling Haaland after this season.

The Bundesliga soccer club and the English Premier League club announced on Tuesday that there were still contractual details to be agreed.

After months of speculation about his future and only a short time after the death of his advisor Mino Raiola, the top scorer decided to move to the top English club with former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola.

All parties have basically agreed on a transfer, the listed BVB announced in an ad hoc announcement.

Contractual details are still to be agreed and documented.

The 21-year-old Norwegian is moving to the Premier League for a fixed fee of 75 million euros.

The change had been in the offing for weeks and months, but had been delayed by Raiola's serious illness.

The advisor died on April 30 at the age of 54 after a short, serious illness.

Dortmund's license player boss Sebastian Kehl had already announced last weekend that a decision in the Haaland cause was imminent.

Adeyemi comes from Salzburg

National striker Karim Adeyemi from Red Bull Salzburg is set to move to Revier as a replacement for the Norwegian.

The future Dortmund sports director Kehl had also announced a short-term decision with this personnel.

As Sky reported on Tuesday, the 20-year-old is said to have been released from his current club Red Bull Salzburg for the medical check and the contract signing and traveled to Dortmund.

The transfer was previously only considered a formality.

The fee for Adeyemi should be between 30 and 40 million euros.

Haaland also came from Salzburg in early 2020 and cost 20 million euros.

The powerhouse proved to be a transfer coup for Dortmund from the start.

He has scored 85 goals in 87 competitive games for BVB so far.

The top scorer, who is now being courted by many top international clubs, still had a contract with BVB until 2024, but can leave the Revierclub this summer with an exit clause.

Real Madrid was also a candidate for a long time, and there was speculation about a move to Manchester United or FC Barcelona.

The transfer was not feasible for the German record champions FC Bayern Munich.

"These are financial dimensions that are beyond our imagination," said CEO Oliver Kahn recently.

All attempts by the BVB management to convince Haaland to stay in Dortmund for another season were unsuccessful.

BVB has once again lost a lot of offensive power.

Already with the departure of stars like Robert Lewandowski (2014/Bayern Munich), Ousmane Dembélé (2017/FC Barcelona), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (2018/FC Arsenal), Christian Pulisic (2019/FC Chelsea) and Jadon Sancho (2021/ Manchester United) the club was challenged to look for alternatives.

Haaland is also returning to his roots with the transfer.

He was born on July 21, 2000 in Leeds, England.

His father Alf-Inge already played for Manchester City.

The former Norway international made 45 competitive appearances for the Premier League club.
