The Tunisian Ministry of Youth and Sports praised the deserved victory of the star Ons Jaber in the Madrid Open Tennis Tournament on Saturday, achieving her first championship in the tournaments in the category of thousand points.

Jaber, ranked tenth in the world, beat American Jessica Pegula, ranked 14th in the world, in an exciting final with a score of 7-5, 0-6, 2-6.

After Jaber's historic coronation, the Tunisian Ministry commented, "A difficult and exciting victory, but it is well deserved in a session of the 1,000-point category. Thank you, Anas, and always forward."

After falling in 5 previous final matches in her professional career, Jaber finally succeeded in breaking the jinx and achieving the first title in the 1,000-point championship on clay courts.

Jaber received great encouragement from her Tunisian and Arab supporters on the stands.

After her victory, the Tunisian Federation commented on its official Facebook page, "Anas Jaber broke the knot... I did it and raised the championship amid crazy Arab encouragement... Everyone cheers for Anas, who performed her best performance this year."

He continued, "The impossible is not Tunisian. Anas Jaber, the Madridist queen."

Regarding her coronation, Jaber said, "We lost a lot of final matches, but today I am happy with the victory."

"It was a very difficult period, especially in the last edition of Charleston, so thank you for always trusting me and pushing me forward," she added.

This is Jaber's second championship after winning the Birmingham Games in 2021 on grass courts, in the first Arab achievement ever.

Jaber also became the first African and Arab player to win the Madrid Open Tennis Championships, to win the biggest title in her career.

With this victory, Jaber will rise from tenth place to seventh in the world rankings, equaling its previous best position.
