Lisa Nordén is currently on site in St. George, Utah, not far from the gaming city of Las Vegas, and is preparing for the extreme power test Ironman World Cup, postponed from last year due to the pandemic.

- Right now, all the preparations are done, so just roll your thumbs and freshen up a bit, says Lisa Nordén.

Ten years ago, Lisa Nordén was Sweden's most sought-after athlete.

Olympic silver, after the most frequent gold sprint of all time - and the World Cup title in triathlon - gave Bragdguld, Jerringpris and the title Female Athlete of the Year.

Injuries hampered his career

Then came the injuries, an operated hamstring operation five years ago, and a gradual transition to even more extreme distances.

37 years old, Lisa Nordén is still motivated.

- I love this sport and this type of training, and just that I can still find things to get better at, says Lisa Nordén.

What are your goals in the World Cup?

- It is an extremely difficult question.

I've been doing this sport for 20 years now, but it's my first World Cup in Ironman distance, so it's a whole new experience which is pretty cool to be exposed to.

Do you still dare to think about medals?

- I have an extremely great respect for this distance.

In an Ironman, it is more a fight with distance and competition than thinking about your opponents.

For me, it is above all to implement the distance in a good way, then I would be extremely satisfied.
